Since first exploding into the public's consciousness with her much acclaimed role as "Mad" in the Punk epic JUBILEE (recently shown as part of Channel 4's tribute to DEREK JARMAN) TOYAH has gone on to establish herself as one of Britain's most successful, prolific and versatile artists.
From "Monkey" in the WHO's classic QUADROPHENIA to "Miranda" in Derek Jarman's innovative version of THE TEMPEST,TOYAH has demonstrated her incredible ability as an actress, working alongside the likes of Katherine Hepburn, Sir John Mills and Sir Laurence Olivier to name but a few! Theatre too has witnessed her considerable talent, from the National Theatre's highly acclaimed production of THREE MEN AND A HORSE (The OLIVIER AWARD WINNER for best comedy) to the West End production of CABARET and PETER SHEIFFER's highly praised stage production of AMADEUS. And with numerous T.V. roles to her credit (most recently in KAVANAGH QC), TOYAH's career continues to go from strength to strength.
But probably the most remarkable achievement of all is that, as well as her success as an actress, TOYAH established herself in the 80's as one of Britain's most popular female vocalists, notching up a remarkable total of 82 weeks in the British charts with 11 HIT SINGLES and receiving the honour of being voted TOP FEMALE VOCALIST at the BRITISH ROCK AND POP AWARDS. Her music has always contained her own unique signature, providing an influence and inspiration to many who have followed.
In October 2003, Toyah performed a one-off concert at the Mean Fiddler in London to mark the celebration of her 25 years in show business and ended the year 2003 as the Wicked Queen in panto, starring in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves at the Marlow Theatre...
2004 saw Toyah return to her musical roots as part of The Best Of The 80s Tour - a month-long national UK tour alongside fellow 80s hitmakers Nick Heyward, Curiosity Killed The Cat and Altered Images.
Toyah continues to work in all fields of the media and refuses to compromise any aspect of her multi-faceted and richly varied career. Toyah can be seen hosting and guesting on numerous TV shows and is constantly in demand on the University / Theatre circuit as she tours with her band, performing a mixture of songs from her classic to her most recent albums.
